Bulgaria. Sunseed prices strengthened last week

The sunseed market somewhat livened up this past week. Oilseed shipments to foreign markets are registered again. Trader demand enables growers to sell remaining sunseed at better prices. Another bullish factor was concerns about decreasing soil moisture in some of Bulgaria’s regions. At the same time, the overall state of crops is assessed as good, reports UkrAgroConsult.

At the beginning of 2017/18 season, new-crop rapeseed prices in the Bulgarian market are down at BGN 700/MT (СРТ-port). This year’s harvest of winter rapeseed started later and it lags more than 80% behind last year. However, the yield appears 4.1% higher than a year ago, leaving the optimistic forecasts for Bulgaria’s rapeseed crop ultimately valid.
