Bunge increasing vegoil production and handling capacities in the port of Mykolaiv

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the state-owned Mykolaiv commercial sea port and the transnational company Bunge, which is one of the world’s top grain and oilseed exporters, have signed a memorandum of cooperation. It envisages the construction of the third stage of a vegoil production facility and a vegoil export terminal in the port of Mykolaiv.

The investment project’s cost is estimated at USD 30 Ml, reports UkrAgroConsult.

“Signing the memorandum, we commit ourselves to adding 400 KMT to the crop export capacity. This third stage will be implemented by the end of 2018,” Tommy Jensen, Bunge CEO in Europe, Middle East & Africa, told a press conference on the occasion of the memorandum signature.

The company has already invested USD 280 Ml in developing the Mykolaiv port’s production and handling facility, which comprises a vegoil mill, a vegoil handling terminal and a grain terminal with increased capacity.
