Cargill expands corn grinding plant in China’s Jilin

Cargill said it has kicked off construction of an expansion project for its corn grinding plant in Songyuan in northeast China’s Jilin province.

The annual capacity of Cargill Bio-Chemical Co will be expanded to 2 million tonnes from 0.8 million, making it the largest corn further processing plant in Asia and the third largest one for Cargill in the world. The expansion is expected to be finished by the end of 2018, according to the company. Founded in 1997, Cargill Bio-Chemical processes corns into starches, syrup, as well as feeds.
