CBOT corn prices gained 2% again last week

Over the period under review (January 25 - February 01), CBOT corn prices gained 1.8%, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The US corn export prices increased USD 3/MT FOB, while Argentinean corn supply quotations strengthened by USD 6/MT (February delivery).

Drought in Argentina, as well as depreciation of the US dollar against other world currencies remained the main bullish drivers last week.

Signs of corn exports improvement from the US also supported the nearest CBOT corn futures. During January 18-25, 1.851 MMT of corn were contracted (+28% over the week, +62% compared to the same period last year). An additional support was provided by the information on 115 KMT of corn, sold to Egypt on Monday, and 132 KMT - supplied to Spain on Tuesday. corn cme
