CBOT wheat prices declined for the fifth consecutive week

01.11.2017

During the reporting week (October 19-26), CBOT wheat futures declined for the fifth consecutive week (-0.23%). Monthly reduction has already reached 4%, but compared to the previous year there is still a significant increase (+9%), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Over the week, the US wheat spot prices (November delivery) lost USD 2/MT to compete with other origins.

Ongoing CBOT bearish trend was promoted by low US wheat exports amid its high supply in the world market, particularly from the Black Sea countries, Argentina and the EU.

The lag in actual shipments and contracted volumes of the US wheat for delivery in the 2017/18 season increased to 5% (15.1 MMT compared to 16.6 MMT).
