CBOT wheat prices declined for the sixth consecutive week

During the reporting period (October 26 - November 02), CBOT wheat prices declined for the sixth consecutive week (-1.3%), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The US wheat spot prices (November delivery) lost USD 3/MT, influenced by its high supply in the world market, especially from Russia. French wheat prices strengthened by USD 2/MT, amid the number of tenders, in particular in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Market operators expect a new tender from Ethiopia for the purchase of 400 KMT of milling wheat, which is scheduled for November 28.

Further CBOT futures growth was provided by the US dollar strengthening, as well as intensification of winter wheat sowing in the USA, which has already reached the previous year’s level. By October 29, winter wheat had been sown on 84% of the intended area (75% - the previous week, 85% - last year and 87% - the five-year average).
