CBOT wheat prices increased 0.6% due to deterioration of US crop conditions

During the reporting week (November 16-22), CBOT wheat prices increased 0.62%, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The US wheat spot prices (December delivery) strengthened by USD 1/MT FOB, while Russian wheat (12.5%) cheapened by USD 1/MT FOB.

French wheat supply prices remained at the previous week’s level, being influenced by EUR strengthening.

According to weekly USDA report on fieldwork progress, by November 19, the share of winter wheat in good and excellent condition had decreased by 2% to 52%. On the same date last year, it was 58%. Market operators expect further deterioration of crop conditions influenced by forecasts of dry weather expected this week. This factor supported CBOT prices.

Moreover, a number of tenders, carried out by importing countries, in particular by Iraq, Ethiopia, Turkey, Tunisia and Jordan, contributed to the price growth.
