China imports Russian flour at a record pace


Within just six months of the 2017/18 season (July-December), exports of flour from Russia grew by 9% compared to the same period last year, and exceeded 105 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In December of the 2017/18 MY, flour exports from Russia rose by 18% compared to the previous month – to 22.5 KMT. Compared to December 2016, flour export shipments increased 31%.

China, Georgia, Tajikistan and Korea, with a 82% share of total imports, remained the largest markets for Russian flour in the current season.

China is the largest importer of Russian flour for the second consecutive season. During the reporting period, China purchased more than 77 KMT of Russian flour that was 20% more than last season (64.2 KMT in 2016/17 MY). This is the record high volume of Russian flour exports to this market.
