China’s additional tariff on US pork will have immediate impact

China’s additional 25% tariff on US pork exports “will have an immediate impact on US producers and exporters, as well as our customers in China,” the US Meat Export Federation said in a statement.

It added that “with nearly 27% of US pork production exported last year, international trade is critical to the continued success and profitability” of the US pork industry. Last year, China was the second largest international market for US pork by volume and 3rd largest in value.
