Corn exports from Ukraine plummeted by 53% in July 2017/18


The upcoming end of the season had a direct impact on the volume of corn exports from Ukraine. Corn shipments to foreign markets plummeted by 53% in July 2017/18 against the previous month, to 704.2 KMT. In addition, this was down 21.1% from July 2016/17.

Ukrainian corn exports fell to 17.3 MMT in September-July 2017/18, i.e. by 17.8% against the same record period in MY 2016/17 (21 MMT). However, this is 3.2% more than in the whole of MY 2015/16 (16.8 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

In July 2018, almost all corn export supplies (98%) were absorbed by the EU, China and Egypt.
