Corn harvesting in Bulgaria lags 52.6% behind last year


Farmers in most of Bulgaria have started harvesting corn for grain. According to current information of Bulgaria’s Ag Ministry, they harvested corn from 64.53 Th ha by September 14 (15% of the projected 418.73 Th ha). The crop amounted to 352.95 KMT with an average yield of 5.47 MT/ha that is up 1.3% year-on-year. The harvest progress lags 52.6% behind last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Also, planting of winter wheat and barley began in some regions of Bulgaria. 1.95 Th ha was sown to winter wheat and 0.25 Th ha to winter barley by the reporting date.
