Corn harvesting in Ukraine lags 14% behind last year

As of October 04, farmers harvested corn from 1012 Th ha (1173 Th ha in the same period in 2016). They got 4228 KMT (6259 KMT) with an average yield of 4.18 MT/ha (5.34 MT/ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Also, farmers continue harvesting buckwheat and millet. As of October 04, buckwheat was harvested from 143 Th ha (78% of the plan) with a crop of 161 KMT and an average yield of 1.13 MT/ha. It was harvested from 139 Th ha at the same time last year, with a crop of 175 KMT and a yield of 1.26 MT/ha. Simultaneously, growers harvested millet from 50 Th ha (88%) with a 73 KMT crop and a 1.46 MT/ha average yield. In 2016, 180 KMT was harvested from 99 Th ha with a yield of 1.83 MT/ha.

In total, cereals and pulses were harvested from 10937 Th ha with a crop of 42.1 MMT and an average yield of 3.85 MT/ha (45.1 MMT and 4.04 MT/ha, respectively, in 2016).
