Corn transport lowers in Brazil

The transportation of corn grains has lowered this season in Brazil to historic low levels. According to the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the average freight costs from Sorriso, Mato Grosso, to the port of Santos dropped 32.2 percent comparing to last year.

It now costs R$ 228.33 (nearly US$ 70) per ton.  The lowers costs are a result of a smaller demand for corn at this time.
