Corn yield in Ukraine higher than last year

As of September 13, the corn harvest was already under way in most regions of Ukraine. Farmers harvested corn from 65 Th ha by the reporting date (155 Th ha in the same period in 2016). They got 280 KMT (629 KMT) with an average yield of 4.27 MT/ha (4.05 MT/ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Also, farmers continue harvesting buckwheat and millet. As of September 13, buckwheat was harvested from 97 Th ha (53% of the plan) with a crop of 110 KMT and an average yield of 1.13 MT/ha. It was harvested from 108 Th ha at the same time last year, with a crop of 138 KMT and a yield of 1.28 MT/ha. Simultaneously, growers harvested millet from 41 Th ha (72%) with a 59 KMT crop and a 1.44 MT/ha average yield. In 2016, 159 KMT was harvested from 87 Th ha with a yield of 1.83 MT/ha.

In total, cereals and pulses were harvested from 9906 Th ha with a crop of 38029 KMT and an average yield of 3.84 MT/ha (39195 KMT and 3.9 MT/ha, respectively, in 2016).
