Corn yield in Ukraine still far below last year’s level

As of October 31, corn was harvested from 2712 Th ha (2594 Th ha in 2016) that is 60% of its planned area of 4511 Th ha. Its crop amounted to 13097 KMT (15334 KMT) with an average yield of 4.83 MT/ha (5.91 MT/ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The harvest of buckwheat and millet is entering its final phase. As of October 31, buckwheat was harvested from 172 Th ha (94% of the plan) with a crop of 188 KMT and an average yield of 1.09 MT/ha. It was harvested from 147 Th ha at the same time last year, with a crop of 188 KMT and a yield of 1.27 MT/ha.

In total, cereals and pulses were harvested from 12.73 Ml ha with a crop of 51.21 MMT and an average yield of 4.02 MT/ha (54.35 MMT and 4.31 MT/ha, respectively, in 2016).
