Cost of grain transportation to Southeast Asia increased in Black Sea region

In the Black Sea region grain freight rates for large Panamax-cargoes increased only for shipments towards Southeast Asia. On other routes rates remained unchanged. New cargo offers were noted in the coaster segment last week, especially concerning transportation by 5-6 KMT lots – surplus of such a tonnage was the most considerable on spot market.

In the Caspian Sea freight market conditions did not change last week. Brokers report that Russian exporters are currently accumulation grain export lots. In Kazakhstan grain supply for exports and transit through Ukrainian and Russian ports may increase owing to rich harvest expectations, but some part of high quality wheat may be supplied to Russia.
