Council confirms date of DDGS ban in Vietnam

The US Grains Council (USGC) is working with Vietnamese importers of distillers’ dried grains with solubles (DDGS) to end the country’s planned suspension of US shipments of the product due to contamination with the Ballion variety of beetle. “The Council was able to confirm the effective date is the bill of lading date, not the arrival date,” Kevin M Roepke, USGC Regional Director for Southern Asia and Oceania, told Asian Agribiz.

“This would enable some shippers and end users to work together in order to clean the pipeline before the effective dates and ship early,” he said adding that the council will continue to work with Washington DC to try and come to a resolution on the issue.
