December’s barley exports from Ukraine hit a six-year low


According to preliminary information of market participants, barley exports from Ukraine totaled 70.6 KMT in December 2017 that is four and a half times less than at the same time in 2016 (314.1 KMT) and the smallest December volume since 2011, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Almost all December barley exports were absorbed by Turkey (91%); the remainder went mostly to the European Union.

Ukraine exported 3.8 MMT of barley in the first half of the 2017/18 season that is down 11.7% year-on-year (4.3 MMT was shipped abroad in July-December 2016/17).
