Economic growth in countries of Asia-Pacific region
16.05.2017
International Monetary Fund raised economic growth forecast for the countries of Asia-Pacific region, compared with the estimates published in October 2016. It is expected that in 2017, economic growth in the region will accelerate to 5.5%, reports UkrAgroConsult.
According to the revised forecast, GDP growth in China and Japan will reach 6.6% and 1.2% respectively. Economic growth estimate for India was somewhat lowered to 7.2% due to temporary effects from demonetization, for South Korea - to 2.7% due to political uncertainty.
It is expected that in the mid-term perspective a slowdown in China will be partly offset by growth acceleration in India, supported by key structural reforms.
