Egypt and Turkey appeared on Romanian barley market


According to port data, in January 2017/18 Romania exported 11.2 KMT of barley to extra and non EU destinations, which was 34% higher than in December 2016/17 (8.34 KMT). Libya was the key destination in the reporting month.

Thus, over July-January 2017/18 Romania shipped  903 KMT of barley via ports, which is 17% higher than over the same period last season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Saudi Arabia continues to be the main destination for Romanian barley – 393.22 KMT, which is almost in line with imports over the reporting period last season (391.5 KMT).

Iran imported 186.4 KMT (no purchases last season). Spain tripled purchases due to lower crop of Spanish barley. Egypt and Turkey appeared on the Romanian barley market this season (0 KMT over the same period last season).
