Egypt became top buyer of Romanian corn
In November 2016/17 MY Romania exported 543.4 KMT of corn, which was 38% higher compared to shipments in November 2015/16 (392.7 KMT), but lower than 5-year average for this month. Record high corn exports for this month were observed in November 2014/15 – 929.5 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Key buyers of the month were Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Vietnam, France, Ireland and Italy.
Since the beginning of the current season (September-November) corn exports from Romania equaled 1574.2 KMT against 1220 KMT over the same period last season (+29%).
According to UkrAgroConsult, over the reporting period Egypt became the top buyer of Romanian corn (297.6 KMT against 32.4 KMT over the same period last season), ousting Netherlands to the third place.
Spain remained at the second place, though lowering purchases to 257.98 KMT.
This season Vietnam appeared among the regular buyers of Romanian corn with 75.4 KMT and Iran purchased 50.7 KMT (0 KMT over the whole previous season).
