Egypt came back to the position of key Russian wheat buyer

According to preliminary data, in September 2016 Russian wheat exports lowered compared to September 2015 and equaled 3505.3 KMT, which was 2.2% lower than last year, informs UkrAgroConsult.

Still, over the three months of 2016/17 (July-September) total volume of exports is 4.6% higher than in the same period of 2015/16 (8277.2 KMT against 7909.5 KMT).

According to UkrAgroConsult data, over this period Egypt managed to recover its position of key Russian wheat importer, increasing purchases in September by 9% compared to August. After its return to international ergot standards Russian wheat became the most demanded at GASC tenders.

Also Bangladesh increased purchases from Russia. Moreover, export growth is seen from the side of Morocco, which purchased two times more than over the whole previous season.
