Egypt increased corn purchases from Ukraine


Over the six months of season 2017/18, Ukraine supplied 8.56 MMT of corn to foreign markets – 18% less than during the same time last season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In February 2018, corn exports from Ukraine remained quite high at 2.03 MMT of corn. This is 12% more than in February 2017 (1.81 MMT), but 3% less than in January 2018 (2.09 MMT).

Almost half of all exported corn was supplied to the EU countries.

China, Egypt, Israel and Turkey were among the largest buyers of Ukrainian corn. Egypt took the second place among top-importers by increasing purchases to 1.2 MMT this season. China imported 941.9 KMT of Ukrainian corn, Turkey – 673.2 KMT.
