Egypt purchased Russian, Argentinian and Romanian wheat via tender

On December 20 Egypt purchased 360 KMT of milling wheat from Russia, Argentina and Romania with shipment during January 20–31, 2017 at the average price of USD 198/ MT C&F. The price at the previous tender equaled USD 202.5/MT C&F, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The purchase included:

– 60 KMT Argentinian wheat from Glencore at $196.65/ MT C&F ($173/ MT FOB with a freight rate $23.65/ MT);

– 60 KMT Argentinian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at $197.15/ MT C&F ($173.5/ MT FOB with a freight rate $23.65/т);

– 60 KMT Russian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at $196.64/ MT C&F ($186.74/ MT FOB with a freight rate $9,9/т);

– 60 KMT Russian wheat from Aston at $198.5/ MT C&F ($187/ MT FOB with a freight rate $11.5/ MT);

– 60 KMT Russian wheat from AOS at $198.5/ MT C&F ($187/ MT FOB with a freight rate $11.5/ MT);

– 60 KMT Romanian wheat from Сerealсom Dolj at $200.64/ MT C&F ($189.74/ MT FOB with a freight rate $10.9/ MT).

Due to the cheaper FOB offers available from Argentina, Russian traders had to lower their FOB prices in average by $2. Also there was observed $2.5 decrease in Russian freight rates. Last time GASC purchased Argentinian wheat in February 2015/16.

At the previous tender, on November, 29 GASC bought only Russian wheat - 240 KMT with delivery during January, 2-11 2017.
