Egypt resuming imports of Ukrainian wheat bran


Ukrainian wheat bran exports are on the rise in the beginning of the 2017/18 season. Ukraine shipped abroad 128 KMT of wheat bran in the first quarter of the current season, or 2.7% more than at the same time a year ago, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Turkey remains the top buyer of Ukrainian wheat bran. In the period under review, the country imported 122.5 KMT of this commodity from Ukraine (96% of its total exports).

Egypt stepped up purchases this season. Ukraine exported 5.5 KMT of wheat bran to Egypt in the first three months of MY 2017/18 against 0.6 KMT for the whole 2016/17 season. Remarkably, Egypt annually imported 20-40 KMT of Ukrainian wheat bran in the previous years.
