Egypt’s wheat ban retraction stuns market


Egypt’s decision to reinstate its ban on fungus-contaminated wheat has caught the market off-guard, as the grain importing giant had only re-entered the market a month prior.

The Egyptian government decided on Sunday (August 28) to resume its zero-tolerance on wheat shipments that contain the common grain fungus, ergot.
