EU to disburse EUR 1.3 Bl for upgrading the railway corridor to Romania’s main port

The European Commission is going to disburse EUR 1.3 Bl from the EU Cohesion Fund for upgrading the railway corridor from the Romanian town of Curtici on the border with Hungary to the Black Sea port of Constanza, reports UkrAgroConsult.

There will be modernized 13 railway stations and built bridges and tunnels. The passenger notification and warning systems will be improved.

The upgrade will considerably increase the speed of rail deliveries and enhance overall safety of the infrastructure, particularly between Curtici and Simeria.
