25.10.2018

In the period from January to September 2018, Ukraine exported fruit and berries for the amount of USD 157 million, which is 40% more than in last year's comparative period.

The main products in this group are walnuts, which were delivered with a value of USD 69 million, frozen fruit and berries — USD 61 million, apples and pears — USD 10 million.

In volume terms, growth in exports of walnuts (from 13 thou. tons in 9 months of 2017 to 20 thou. tons in the same period of the current year), apples and pears (from 9 thou. tons to 29 thou. tons, respectively) was the most notable.

The European Union remained the key market, which bought about two-thirds of all export earnings.

In January-September 2018, the largest purchases of fruit were made by Poland (USD 32.3 million), France (USD 11.7 million), Belarus (USD 10.9 million), Turkey (USD 10.6 million), the Netherlands (USD 8.8 million) , Germany (USD 7.4 million) and Italy (USD 7.2 million).

Previously it was reported that despite the increased demand for tomatoes from exporters, the supply of these products from Ukraine had declined last week.
