According to Rosstat, the production of butter in Russia increased by 7.1% from January to September, reports The DairyNews. Cheese production increased by 4.3% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 347 thousand tons.

The enterprises of Russia produced 205 tons of butter for the first nine months of the year.

Earlier it was reported that experts from the Russian Presidential Academy of national economy and public administration released monthly monitoring of socio-economic situation, according to which the biggest jump in prices among food commodities accounts for the butter: for a year its cost has grown by 21%.

The expert of the market of milk and dairy products of the Institute of the agricultural markets Vadim Semikin believes that it is not worth expecting reduction of prices for butter before the end of the year. In his opinion, on the market there may be expensive fat (butter) and cheap protein (milk), or vice versa, and now the first option is present.
