Georgia began construction of port in Anaklia at the price of USD 2.5 bln

Georgian government concluded investment agreement with JSC Anaklia Development consortium on construction of deep sea port in Anaklia, informs UkrAgroConsult.

Total cost of the project is USD 2.5 bln. The port will be able to receive large ships - post-Panamax and provide place for ships with 10 th TEU load capacity. Construction will be done in several stages and the first one will take three years, envisaging USD 586 mln investments to construct facilities, which will be capable to let through 7 MMT of cargoes per year. 

Port in Anaklia has all the possibilities to become the main sea gate of the country and one of the most important logistic centers in the region.
