Grain crop in Ukraine fell by 7.3% in 2017

According to preliminary data of the Ukrainian statistics agency, Ukraine’s crop of cereals and pulses in 2017 amounted to 61.28 MMT (net weight) that is down 7.3% from 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult.

This included the crop of wheat at 26.11 MMT (+0.3%), barley at 8.28 MMT (-12.3%), corn at 24.11 MMT (-14.1%), rye at 506.9 KMT (+29.5%), oats at 471.1 KMT (-5.8%), buckwheat at 180.4 KMT (+2.2%), millet at 84.5 KMT (-55.3%), rice at 63.9 KMT (-1.2%).

The production of pulses totaled 1236.8 KMT (up 41.1% from 2016), including 1095.7 KMT of peas (+46.8%).
