Grain exports from Russia down 1.8%


Russia exported 18.3 MMT of grain in MY 2016/17 by December 14, or 1.8% less than at the same time a year ago, reports the Ag Ministry referring to current information of the Federal Customs Service.

Grain exports in the reporting period included 14.3 MMT of wheat, 2.1 MMT of corn, 1.8 MMT of corn and 119 KMT of other grains. 18.6 MMT of grain was exported for the same period in 2015/16.

Noteworthy, the Ag Ministry reduced its forecast for Russian grain exports to 35 MMT (33.9 MMT was in MY 2015/16), informs UkrAgroConsult.

According to preliminary information, Russia harvested 118 MMT` of grain this year compared to 104.8 MMT in 2015.
