Grain stocks in Kazakhstan are up 15.5% from last year


According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, farms of all types held 11.736 MMT of cereals and pulses as of March 1, 2017. This is 15.5% more than at the same time last year (10.157 MMT).

Wheat inventories are up 11.2% year-on-year at 9.71 MMT, including 7.73 MMT of milling wheat, 0.55 MMT of feed wheat and 1.43 MMT of wheat for seed, reports UkrAgroConsult.

As of the same date, barley stocks totaled 1.187 MMT, or 37% more than last year, while corn reserves amounted to 107 KMT, those of rice to 209 KMT, rye to 26 KMT, oats to 178 KMT, buckwheat  to 47 KMT, and millet to 30 KMT.
