Grain stocks in Kazakhstan are up 20% from last year


According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, farms of all types held 9.15 MMT of cereals and pulses as of May 1, 2017. This is 19.8% more than at the same time last year (7.64 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat inventories are up 17.1% year-on-year at 7.72 MMT, including 5.87 MMT of milling wheat, 0.42 MMT of feed wheat and 1.44 MMT of wheat for seed.

As of the same date, barley stocks totaled 0.83 MMT, or 32% more than last year, while corn reserves amounted to 68 KMT, those of rice to 151 KMT, rye to 20 KMT, oats to 136 KMT, buckwheat  to 38 KMT, and millet to 23 KMT.
