Grain stocks in Kazakhstan are up 7.4% from last year


According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, farms of all types held 14.82 MMT of cereals and pulses as of January 1, 2017. This is 7.4% more than at the same time last year (13.8 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat inventories are up 2.7% year-on-year at 12 MMT, including 9.88 MMT of milling wheat, 713.2 KMT of feed wheat and 1393.5 KMT of wheat for seed.

As of the same date, barley stocks totaled 1730.6 KMT, or 25% more than last year, while corn reserves amounted to 176.4 KMT, those of rice to 267.9 KMT, rye to 31.9 KMT, oats to 224.5 KMT, buckwheat  to 52.1 KMT, and millet to 38.9 KMT.
