Grain stocks in Kazakhstan up 35%from last year

According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, cereal and pulse stocks at all farms totaled 4.78 MMT as of July 1, 2017, or 35% more than at the same time last year (3.5 MMT).

Wheat inventories are up 34.7% year-on-year at 4.2 MMT, including 3.79 MMT of milling wheat, 0.27 MMT of feed wheat and 0.1 MMT of wheat for seed.

As of the above date, barley inventories totaled 0.32 MMT, or up 26.8% year-on-year, with those of corn at 34.4 KMT, rice at 64.8 KMT, rye at 11.9 KMT, oats at 74.7 KMT, buckwheat at 23.7 KMT and millet at 10.7 KMT.

As a reminder, monthly growth of grain inventories in the country results from an insufficient pace of grain exports against the background of this season’s higher exportable stocks.
