Grain stocks in Russia keep increasing


According to the Russian statistics agency, farming, procuring and processing entities held 39.13 MMT of grain as of January 1, 2017, or 13.2% more than at the same time last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat stocks at procuring and processing entities are 17.9% higher than last year (11.63 MMT, including 8.11 MMT of milling wheat – up 12.9% from last year). Barley stocks increased as much as 16.5% to 1776 KMT, with rye up 7.9% at 541 KMT, buckwheat up 35.2% at 97 KMT and millet up 69.6% at 35 KMT.

Corn stocks are 9.2% lower than last year, at 1780 KMT. In addition, rice and oat reserves slumped by 66.8% and 18% to 47 KMT and 143 KMT, respectively.
