Half of corn area already harvested in Ukraine

As of October 23, corn was harvested from 2271 Th ha (2153 Th ha in 2016) that is 50% of its planned area of 4511 Th ha. Its crop amounted to 10633 KMT (12486 KMT) with an average yield of 4.68 MT/ha (5.80 MT/ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The harvest of buckwheat and millet is entering its final phase. As of October 23, buckwheat was harvested from 166 Th ha (91% of the plan) with a crop of 184 KMT and an average yield of 1.11 MT/ha. It was harvested from 146 Th ha at the same time last year, with a crop of 187 KMT and a yield of 1.27 MT/ha. Simultaneously, growers harvested millet from 55 Th ha (97%) with a 79 KMT crop and a 1.44 MT/ha average yield. In 2016, 185 KMT was harvested from 101 Th ha with a yield of 1.83 MT/ha.

In total, cereals and pulses were harvested from 12.26 Ml ha with a crop of 48.69 MMT and an average yield of 3.97 MT/ha (51.46 MMT and 4.23 MT/ha, respectively, in 2016).
