Higher production cost raises egg price in Malaysia

13.09.2017

Federation of Livestock Farmers Associations of Malaysia’s President, Datuk Jeffrey Ng, said the recent increase in the price of eggs is unavoidable and somewhat expected, as farmers were coping with increased cost of production.

He said some farms are backed into a corner as they struggle to buy feed and several smaller farms are even facing the possibility of closing their operation. However, he reminded farmers to not panic with the price increase and assured consumers there was no shortage of eggs.
