Hungary and Georgia became top importers of Ukrainian soybean meal

Soybean meal exports from Ukraine totaled 28.6 KMT in December of MY 2016/17 against 27 KMT in November 2016 and 32.3 KMT in December 2015. The current pace of export shipments lags more than 11% behind last season (84.6 KMT against 95.2 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Active soybean exports in the first four months of 2016/17 (30% of the 2016 harvest) had no adverse impact on crushing volumes, therefore soybean meal deliveries to foreign markets are very likely to overcome the above-mentioned lag by the season’s end.

No considerable changes have happened in the range of soybean meal export destinations this season. It is worth noting that last season’s top importers – Belarus and Turkey – yielded their positions to countries such as Hungary (21% of the product’s total exports) and Georgia (16%). Additionally, new markets were opened for the Ukrainian commodity: Spain and Korea.
