Hungary cut sunseed exports in favor of crushing


Hungary increased sunoil exports to 337 KMT in September-March 2016/17 that is 14.2% more that at the same time last season (295 KMT). The country exported 447 KMT of sunoil last season. Hungary managed to expand exports due to a rich sunseed harvest in 2016/17 season: 1874 KMT against 1586 KMT in the previous season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Traditionally, the top importers of Hungarian sunoil in the period under review were EU countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic.

At the same time, sunseed exports decreased 37.5% to 172 KMT (275 KMT in September-March 2015/16). 382 KMT of sunseed was shipped abroad last season.
