In Russia recorded the highest weekly deflation


At the end of the week from 22 to 28 August, consumer prices in Russia declined by 0.2%. About it reports "Interfax" with reference to Rosstat data

But the week-long deflation of 0.2% recorded for the first time over the past 14 years: by the end of August 2003 month-on-month deflation was 0.4%, and theoretically one of the weeks, consumer prices could be reduced by 0.2%, but then the weekly statistics were not published.

As of 28 August, the decline in consumer prices since the beginning of the month was 0.4%. Since the beginning of this year they grew by 1.9%. However, the intermediate data should be treated with caution. For example, in July 2017, inflation stood at 0.1%, although based on the weekly change, predicted growth of 0.3%.

Average deflation in August was of 0.015%. Last year recorded a zero daily average. On 28 August, the inflation in annual terms is estimated at 3.4-3.5 per cent. It continues to be removed downwards from the Central Bank target of 4%.
