In the Russian Federation discussed the prospects of export of agricultural products


12 December 2016 Deputy Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Gromyko held a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development and support of export of agricultural products.

The participants discussed results of development of export of agricultural products in 2016 and outlined the tasks for the future.

Evgeny Gromyko noted that, according to forecasts of the Food and agriculture organization of the UN (FAO), by 2030 world output of agriculture will increase 1.5 times, exceeding 9 trillion dollars.

"This is a serious opportunity to ensure the growth of agricultural production and products of its processing, thereby to increase Russia's share in global production", — said the Deputy Minister.

According to Yevgeny Gromyko, need to actively develop the export of meat products and deliveries for the first 9 months of this year increased by 60% and exceeded 150 thousand tons.

"In 2016 in Russia will be a record harvest of sugar beet is 50 million tons. This will allow us to significantly increase the exports of sugar - the plan is to put abroad the following year, hundreds of thousands of tons", — he stressed.

These products are identified as indicators of export growth in the priority project "the Export of agricultural products", which was developed by the Ministry of agriculture in the framework of the main directions of strategic development of "international cooperation and exports". The project aims to increase exports of agricultural products is not less than 12.5% by the end of 2018, and not less than 26.7% by the end of 2020.

The event was attended by representatives of the Analytical center under the Government of RF, Ministry of foreign Affairs, Ministry of economic development, Minpromtorg, FAS, FCS, chamber of Commerce and industry, the Russian export centre of the Rosselkhoznadzor, and also the branch unions, associations and academic institutions.
