India’s poultry sector seen to grow 8%


India’s poultry sector is expected to grow by 8% in the near future. B. Soundararajan, Chairman of Executive Director of Compound Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India said that the country produces over 63 billion eggs and is one of the most efficient producers of chicken meat.

Meanwhile, CLFMA Executive Director Raghavan Sampathkumar said the broiler and layer sectors are seen to grow between 6-8% and 5% respectively in the next 4-5 years. He added that the broiler meat’s advantage is that it does not have any religious constraints and is also one of the most affordable and available animal protein in the country.
