Indonesia. Boosting investment in processing, export

Indonesia’s aquaculture & fisheries industry is predicted to continue to grow this year, in line with the growing population, according to Rokhmin Dahuri, Chairman of the Indonesian Aquaculture Society.

“The industry has the potential to produce more than 60 million tonnes of fish [including seaweed] … the largest in the world,” said Prof Dahuri. “What we need to do this year and in the coming years is boost investment in the processing and export sector. Regulations from the government should also support this.”
