Indonesia’s share in Ukrainian palm oil imports hit a ten-year high


Ukraine imported 12.4 KMT of palm oil in February 2017 against 11.6 KMT in January 2017 and 15.2 KMT in February 2016. This season’s palm oil imports (September-February) totaled 98.6 KMT, i.e. they are still 4% ahead of last year (94.6 KMT in September-February 2015/16).

Indonesia continues holding the top position among palm oil exporters this season, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, the country’s share in imports of this vegoil to Ukraine has increased to 83.2% (98.6 KMT) in MY 2016/17, remaining at a ten-year high. Correspondingly, Malaysia’s market share has shrunk to 15.8% (15.6 KMT). In addition, Ukraine imports minor amounts of palm oil from Sweden, Russia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy.

Further prospects of the Black Sea oilseeds/vegoils market will be discussed at the V International Conference “Black Sea Oil Trade”, which will take place on September 19, 2017 in Hilton hotel, Kiev, Ukraine.
