Kazakh grains suffer from precipitations


Precipitations observed in the South and South-East of Kazakhstan during July, 11-21 slowed down harvesting works. Winter wheat is in good conditions almost everywhere, stage of development – complete maturity.

After July 21 weather favored the growth and development of spring grain crops. Though, abundant precipitations in the Northern part led to excessive soil moistening, which causes lodging and rotting of grain crops. In the South the same conditions hampers barley harvesting and causes losses in harvested crops. Also pests and diseases development observed in some fields.  

According to Kazakh ministry, in 2016 the area affected with grain crop diseases is expected to be 2365.793 Th ha.  By August, 1 protective treatments had been conducted at 2157.3 Th ha.
