Kazakh linseed supplied to Vietnam for the first time

Linseed exports from Kazakhstan totaled 21.1 KMT in March 2017, down 23% from February (27.4 KMT) and up more than 55% from March 2016 (13.6 KMT). Overall, linseed supplies to foreign markets reached a record 223.7 KMT for the seven months of 2016/17, i.e. almost 28% more than at the same time last year (175 KMT), informs UkrAgroConsult.

As a reminder, this season’s rise in exportable inventories, which are estimated by UkrAgroConsult at 300-310 KMT, became possible due to a bumper linseed crop of 562 KMT (up 12% from the 2015 crop).

Kazakhstan’s export market of linseed is going the way of diversifying end markets. The number of importing countries has already reached 30 this season, up from last season’s statistics. The export linseed is shipped mostly to European countries (60% of its total volume). Traditionally, the top importers include Afghanistan (22%) and Uzbekistan (5%). In addition, March 2017 saw the first delivery of Kazakh linseed to Vietnam (roughly 2 KMT).

Further prospects of the Black Sea oilseeds/vegoils market will be discussed at the V International Conference “Black Sea Oil Trade”, which will take place on September 19, 2017 in Hilton hotel, Kiev, Ukraine.
