Kazakh wheat exports dropped

21.11.2017

Kazakhstan exported 257.5 KMT of wheat in the first month of 2017/18 (September), or 27% less than in September 2016. This is one of the slowest paces of Kazakh wheat exports in five seasons, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Traditionally, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan remained the key end markets for Kazakh wheat at the time: they absorbed 45% and 33% of September’s total exports, respectively. Also, other stable importers still include China (7%), Italy (5%), Turkey (4%) and Azerbaijan (3%).

As a reminder, UkrAgroConsult estimates Kazakhstan’s 2017 wheat crop at 13.7-14 MMT in net weight.
