Kazakhstan. Almaty region expanding oilseed plantings


Oilseed plantings and yields in Almaty region, the Republic of Kazakhstan, gained almost 10%. Total oilseed output exceeded 300 KMT. Roughly 4 KMT was shipped abroad, Kazakh-Zerno reports.

Zhenis Saripbekov, the chief specialist in the regional agricultural department: “Planted areas are expected to be expanded by another some 7% next year, too. The reasons are keen demand for oilseeds and good state support for growers.”
